Per Texas BTA By-Laws, membership dues paid in October, November or December of a given year are extended through the following year at no cost to the member.

Programs and Education. Texas BTA devotes the bulk of our resources to the education and professional skill development of our members. Understanding that corporate business travel is at the crossroads of change, Texas BTA believes that a complete and intimate knowledge of the travel industry is crucial to the success of its members. Throughout the year, educational programs are held on a wide variety of topic’s affecting business travel management; from new developments in technology to changes in local and national purchasing trends.

Networking. Success in any business begins with establishing relationships among professionals in its industry. By actively participating in monthly meetings and other exciting events, Texas BTA members network and establish the professional relationships necessary for success. Promoting the healthy exchange of ideas and information, Texas BTA enthusiastically welcomes the challenges of the 21st Century and vigorously represents and supports the needs and interests of those involved in the fields of business travel.

Volunteerism and Leadership. At the core of Texas BTA are volunteers who compose our officers and committees. Accomplished and respected professionals in the travel management industry, they focus on specific issues which will affect our members. Because we are a collective of interested and motivated individuals, our members have the opportunity to actively participate in the functioning of Texas BTA, gain the experience to grow professionally and assume leadership positions. By providing an information network where those pursuing careers in travel management can associate closely with industry leaders on important issues, Texas BTA is the ideal venue for individuals of all abilities and backgrounds to work together and effect real and lasting change in an important aspect of the local business community.
Membership is available on an annual calendar year basis (January to December) at a cost of $100.00 per individual per year.
Membership Types

Direct membership shall be limited to any person regularly employed to 1) procure business travel services for employees of the corporation or organization, or 2) promulgate and administer travel policies for the corporation or organization. Note: Direct members shall have all voting rights and may hold elective office within the Association. Direct membership may be transferred within a corporation upon application to and approval by the Membership Committee.

Allied membership is open to any person who is responsible for directing the business conducted by the following companies: Auto Rental, Bus, Certified Air Carrier, Charge Card, Credit Card, Cruise Line, Hotel, Livery, Motel, Mover of Household Goods, Railroad, Travel Related Automation Company, Travel Management Consulting Firms, Travel Agencies and other travel professional services firms or associations. Note: Allied membership shall have all voting rights unless otherwise specified herein, and may hold elective office within the Association. Allied membership may be transferred within a company upon application to and approval by the Membership Committee.

Academic Members.
1. Student Members. Any full-time post-secondary student enrolled in a program at a college, university, or other post-secondary institution which is recognized by the Association leading to a
degree in travel, transportation, or hospitality management, and any student organization which represents such students, is eligible to apply to be as a student member. Student members
may not hold elective office or vote, but may serve as an observer on any committee.
2. Educator Members. Any full time teacher/professor from a licensed or accredited school/university engaged in teaching students in subject areas related to NBTA’s core mission of business travel. Educator members may not elective office or vote, but may serve on any committee.

Honorary Members. Any individual who has been recognized by the Board of Directors as having rendered distinguished service to the industry or the Association may be elected an honorary member of the Association by the Board of Directors. Honorary memberships are automatically accorded to individuals upon their retirement, who have served in designated positions, including original founding members of the Association; Past Presidents who served full terms; recipients of the Annual President’s Award; past Board of Director members; and past Direct and Allied Members of the Year. Honorary members may not hold elected office or vote, but may serve on committees.
